EVO View 4G Getting Launch Date Firmware Update
There is plenty of anticipation for the official release date of Sprint’s EVO 3D. There has already been mention of the EVO 3D getting a pre-release firmware update to work out a few kinks, but the EVO 3D won’t be alone in its release or software update. Just in case you forgot Sprint’s HTC View 4G goes on sale tomorrow as well and it will be getting a little software love of its own. Our beloved Super Spies sent over another internal document detailing the EVO View 4G’s jump from Gingerbread 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. This will add Netflix app support for the WiMAX powered 7-inch tablet, as well as the ability to video chat via Google Talk. Now before you go getting all gussied up for your big web chat date, the memo also notes that HTC’s video chat testing didn’t go too well and this feature will be disabled until the next software update. There is also fixes for Google Maps and email bugs. You can expect to see the OTA update as soon a launch day. Be warned the update can take up to twenty minutes, so you might want to grab a snack while you wait.
