King Koopa’s Kicks Are Oh So Cool
Keeping things more than sexy, Converse has done it again! The shoe company has released more Super Mario themed collectible Chuck Taylor’s. These shoes are so awesome you can’t help but smile when you see them. Pictured above are a pair of high-tops wrapped up in level 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. We’ve also tossed in a pair featuring Mario’s nemesis Koopa and a shot of the awesome box that these bad boys come in. Scheduled for an August release, they’re only gonna officially be available in Japan, but of course you can work your internet mojo to import a pair or two. Addition images after the break.
Edward James Olmos Joins ‘Dexter’ Season 6 Cast

Dexter Morgan is about to be one busy psycho killer. Already set to be taking on Colin Hanks and Mos Def in the show’s sixth season. You can now add Edward James Olmos to the mix of special guest stars. Olmos’ character is said to be “a brilliant, charismatic professor of religious studies.” No word if his character is gonna be good or bad, but in good form Olmos confirmed his role by tweeting: “It’s true… I’m coming for you Dexter….” The show is slated to begin filming May 25th, hey that’s tomorrow!
‘Titanic’ Making Big Screen Return in 3D on April 6th 2012
We knew this was gonna happen and now we have a date! Even though he’s openly stated that he is “not a fan of post-converted 3D.” James Cameron’s Titanic will be making a grand 3D return to theaters on April 6th 2012. This almost lines the release up with the 100-year anniversary of the historical ship’s maiden voyage, which was on April 10th 1912. We’re not too sure how family members of passengers who lost their lives are gonna feel about this. No matter what the case may be, we’re willing to bet that Cameron’s big boat movie will dominate the box office one more time. Full press release after the break.
Napoleon Dynamite: The Animated Series Has a Trailer [Video]
About a year ago Fox announced plans for an animated series based off the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite. Now cashing in seven years too late, Fox is finally releasing an official trailer. Not too sure how this will do, but if it’s mixed in with Fox’s Sunday night lineup it just might be a decent filler. On a positive note, they’ve managed to secure the entire original cast for the show’s voice acting. The show is expected to launch sometime around next spring. Check out the trailer embedded after the break.
Netflix Inks Deal With Miramax
In another effort to further their quest to dominate your home entertainment experience, Netflix has just put together a deal with Miramax. Rumored to cost the company with all of those red envelopes around $100 million. This will bring an even larger amount of content to their instant stream service. Miramax has a deep library of movies and most of the beloved Quentin Tarantino collection. Rumored to be a five year deal, you can expect your Instant Queue to put on a little weight around this time next month. Full press release after break.
‘Dexter’ is Gonna Most Likely Kill Colin Hanks and Maybe Mos Def [Video]

Showtime recently released an official, but not so revealing teaser for Dexter Season 6. We’ve also got a few casting tidbits for the show about America’s favorite serial killer. We now know that Dexter Morgan will be squaring off against Travis (Colin Hanks aka Tom Hanks’ kid) an ancient artifacts expert linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami. We can also confirm that Mos Def has signed on for multiple episodes for Dexter’s upcoming season. The actor/hip hop star will play the role of a yet to be named ex-con claiming to have found religion who seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Dexter Morgan normally takes on one “big bad” per season, but considering the description of the two new characters, it appears they’re going in a different direction. Production for the 12 episode season is slated to begin in June, but you can watch the teaser trailer after the break.
‘Fast Five’ Quick Review
The Fast and the Furious didn’t seem like the foundation to build a franchise on, but boy was I wrong on that call! Four films later we have a colorful cast of returning characters from previous installments and the addition of Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson spearheading the way for Fast Five. I had a bit of mixed feelings about this one, but knew I would end up seeing it, especially since Paul Walker and Vin Diesel would be returning. After tolerating the rough spots that were 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift, Walker and Diesel managed to save things with 2009′s Fast and Furious. So with an IMAX calling I decided to give it a shot, what was the worst thing that could happen?
Super Mario Collector’s Kicks Take us Back to the 8-Bit Era
In celebration of Super Mario Bros. turning twenty-five, Converse and the house that Miyamoto built have partnered up. Available in black and white wrapped with Mario sprites, these are almost a must own for any 80′s baby. The real drag here is they’re only slated to hit the Land of the Rising Sun. We’re pretty sure if you’re internet savvy and have enough hustle and bustle, you’ll manage to score a pair of these. Is it just us, or does Japan gets all the cool stuff? We’ve got a image of the white ones after the break.
‘Scream 4′ a Day Later… What Did You Think?
Almost fifteen years ago a witty slasher flick directed by horror heavy hitter Wes Craven excited teens and adults alike. Three sequels later it appears we’ve come full circle. I remember the first movie in the series very well and how it had a suspenseful flow that kept me on my toes. Now when you consider almost everyone that saw the original Scream during its opening weekend are now pushing around age thirty or older, the question is would the magic still be there? Or would this be another exploitation of a beloved franchise? Considering how in today’s age the slasher movie genre is in major distress. The two main reasons being the PG-13 push to attract the teenagers and the fact that this generation doesn’t know the difference between a slasher and a horror flick. A horror flick normally carries supernatural villains: ghosts, ghouls, vampires, werewolves, and demons, things that go bump in the night. While a slasher film’s villain is normally a psychopath that is human just like the people that he or she stalks and torments. Scream 4 is a slasher by nature, this is something you have to understand in order to really appreciate this type of movie. So here we are twenty-four hours removed from opening day and the question is what did you think?
Black Dynamite Officially Heading to Adult Swim
From cult classic to future animated series. It’s official Adult Swim has picked up Black Dynamite. The show will be directed by Carl Jones and feature voice talents from some of the film’s original cast: Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson, Kym Whitley and Byron Minns. This series should be showing up in early 2012 and will be animated by Titmouse. The live film holds a special place in our hearts and we can’t help, but wonder what the future holds for this awesome character. Hopefully we’ll get a live action sequel in the not so distant future. We’ll keep covering this as things develop.
