Netflix Officially Hitting Android For Some Devices Today

Good news for stateside Android fans. After what seemed like three eternities, Netflix has finally landed on the Android Market. So what took so long? The main problem in bringing Netflix over was the fragmentation of Android as a platform. It’s not just multiple versions of the operating system, but the phones come in all shapes and sizes with different types of hardware under the hood. Now that it’s here, all is forgiven now right? Well not exactly. The new Netflix app that hits the Android Market today has limited support, at least for the time being. Currently the following Android 2.2 and 2.3 phones support the app: HTC Incredible with Android 2.2, Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3, HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2, HTC G2 with Android 2.2, and Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3. We think we’ve got one or two of these laying around here somewhere! Hopefully we’ll see more devices added soon, but if you happen to have one of the mentioned phones, we’d love to hear about your experience with this new app. So gone on and download it already!

No exact word on when we’ll see an official Google Voice app but we’re sure it’s already done or in the works.
