ThunderBolt Beats Verizon iPhone

We guess 4G really does matter? Or perhaps releasing an already existing product against a brand new one really doesn’t work too well? According to research firm ITG, HTC’s LTE fueled ThunderBolt surpassed the Big Red Apple this past March. Apple is currently gearing up to release their quarterly sales figures today and Wall Street is estimating around 16-17 million iPhones sold. On the other side of things, perhaps Apple shot themselves in the foot by releasing the iPad 2 too early? This could have easily diverted a few sales from potential iPhone customers. With all this iPhone 5 talk we can’t help but wonder if people will continue to hold off and if the ThunderBolt will make it two for two?

AT&T and Verizon Kiss and Makeup in New iPhone Commercial… Not Really (Video)

After well over a year of bashing each other back and forth the AT&T and Verizon iPhone love triangle has done the unthinkable. Apple has brought them together in their latest iPhone 4 commercial showcasing how both phones are guess what? The same! Take a look at the two siblings sitting side by side and try and guess which one is for which carrier before they reveal it at the end of the commercial. Why do I have a feeling we’ll see this one on Super Bowl Sunday?

Whoop There it is! Verizon has an iPhone

So Verizon finally comes clean about the iPhone 4 coming next month. It’s the same iPhone AT&T customers have but set to run on a CDMA connection. Just like we thought it’s 3G only. Starting February 3rd existing customers can pre-order and new customers can buy on February 10th. As far as pricing: $199 for the 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and you’ll have hotspot support for up to five devices. Verizon has confirmed that this is a non exclusive deal( Sprint iPhone anyone?). Don’t get us wrong we’re happy to see customers get a choice, we see that as the big deal in this. There is also the standard CDMA tradeoff of no data while on a voice call. We can expect to see AT&T attack that in marketing. Well if you’ve been holding out for an iPhone due to an AT&T roadblock, here’s your chance.

iPhone 4 On Sale @Radio Shack for $150

If you’ve been holding out on upgrading to an iPhone 4, this might sway you. Radio Shack has dropped $50 off the handset’s price tag. So you’re looking at a 16GB iPhone 4 (on contract) for $150 and a 32GB model for $250 (also on contract). This is pretty much the best deal being offered on the iPhone 4 by a major retailer. However, if that’s not enough for you, the Shack also has a slick trade-in deal going on. Your old 3G carries a value of $75 store credit, and your 3GS will earn you $125. So you can walk out of the store with a new iPhone 4 for $25, not bad! If this is still too rich for your blood, or you don’t have an old iPhone to trade, there’s one more sale option. If you’re not ready to take the plunge, you can score an 8GB 3GS for $50. We’re not psychic, but if you’re planing on picking up an iPhone we see Radio Shack in your future.

So in spite of a few hiccups the iPhone 4 has still been a major success. Now if you’re one of the people holding out waiting for the white version you might not wanna hold your breath. Rumor has it that the China-based company that supplies the glass for the device’s panel is experiencing shortage in supplies due to overwhelming consumer demand. Jobs and Company say by the end of July, guess we’ll have to just wait and see. You know you could always buy the black version? We suspect it works the same way the elusive white version will, just making a suggestion.
