Fake Looking Project Cafe Video Ruled Fake
A few days back an obscenely fake looking video of what was rumored to be a private presentation of the Wii’s successor was floating around the internet like a plastic bag caught up in a heavy breeze. Unlike many other sites on the world wide web, we refused to air the video, because we knew it was bogus (the things people do for web traffic!). It wasn’t because we had a super secret inside source about the situation. It was because Nintendo took no action and the video stayed on YouTube without any issues. If it was real, Nintendo would’ve had the video pulled immediately. We also took into consideration that the video looked extremely fake.
GameCube Fusion Mod Keeps it Clean [Video]
The portable GameCube mod scene seems to really be picking up. A first timer by the name of Ashen has put together a stylish looking mod that he calls the “GameCube Fusion”. This white on white handheld runs GC games via SD cards and has an additional controller port for local two player action. The only two drawbacks we’ve spotted so far is the lack of a battery pack and the fact that it’s cooling fan makes it louder than an Xbox 360 launch unit. Detailed video after the break.
What’s Going on With the Big Three at E3?
With the Electronic Entertainment Expo literally weeks away, many are starting to make predictions of what to expect. It’s kinda hard to call this year’s show, because only a few things are truly known. Last year it was all about the 3DS and a pair of motion controllers, but what’s on tap this time around? Considering that most of the games that people are currently excited about are already scheduled. Could this be the year of the new IP? Or will we just get fed a few surprise sequels? Let’s take a quick look at some of the possibilities of what just might go down.
Wii Price Drop Gets Real Starting May 15th

After pretty much everyone under the sun talking about a Wii price drop, Nintendo has finally decided to come clean. The big N has added a brand new SKU to the tune of $150. Available May 15th, this new bundle will include: Wii console, Wiimote with Motion Plus, Nunchuk, a copy of Mario Kart Wii, and a racing wheel. We don’t know about you, but we see the Wii going the way of the Dreamcast and original Xbox around two years from now. For those of you that are interested, full press release after the break.
Nintendo is Moving on, but What About the Other Guys?
After an almost five year run, we’re now a few weeks away from Nintendo announcing the Wii’s passing of the torch at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles. Like everyone else we’re very excited about this upcoming milestone, but we’re also wondering how will this impact the other two players in the ongoing console war? We’ve decided to kick a few ideas around of what could possibly happen now that Nintendo is introducing some new hardware. Let’s get ready to play a game of the what ifs.
Super Mario Collector’s Kicks Take us Back to the 8-Bit Era
In celebration of Super Mario Bros. turning twenty-five, Converse and the house that Miyamoto built have partnered up. Available in black and white wrapped with Mario sprites, these are almost a must own for any 80′s baby. The real drag here is they’re only slated to hit the Land of the Rising Sun. We’re pretty sure if you’re internet savvy and have enough hustle and bustle, you’ll manage to score a pair of these. Is it just us, or does Japan gets all the cool stuff? We’ve got a image of the white ones after the break.
Nintendo’s New Console to be Called Revolution?
After an endless sea of rumors and Nintendo even stepping in to clear things up a bit. We now have more gasoline to throw on the fire! We’ve received word that the soon to be revealed Wii successor that is said to be sporting the codename “Project CafĂ©,” will not be called Wii2! In an interesting twist the new system is said to bear the name “Revolution,” which was the original name of its predecessor. This kinda makes sense, but we’re gonna take this with a grain of salt until we can get something concrete. However, with all the talk of touchscreen content streaming controllers and hardware that surpasses anything currently on the market. The name Revolution would be very fitting for such a machine.
Nintendo Confirms New Console for E3, Current Wii Price Cut Pretty Much a Lock
Instead of downplaying all the new console rumors, Nintendo has decided to come clean. They’ve officially announced a new console will be revealed at this year’s E3. So now the question is will they show the world some images or wait for the internet to uncover something? This also pretty much confirms the rumors of a Wii price cut, since the new system is slated for a 2012 release. We applaud Nintendo for stepping up and announcing the new machine, it puts them back in the driver’s seat. Full press release after the break.
DS Lite to Join the PSP Go?
There have been rumors of a internal GameStop email floating around stating that the PSP Go will soon be getting some company in the form of the Nintendo DS Lite. This makes a lot of sense seeing how the 3DS is out and printing money as we speak. Also when you consider the fact there is like 75 different versions of the DS on the market. Okay well not really 75, but there sure are a lot of DS options out there. We’re wondering if we’ll see a fire sale? Or will a DS Lite end up being some type of oddball collector’s item? Only time and Ebay auctions will tell. Also we still need GameStop or Nintendo to confirm or deny.
Rockstar Games Already Working With Wii’s Successor? [Video NSFW]
The rumors that Nintendo is planning on announcing a new console soon just won’t die! Perhaps that’s why all these retailers are dropping the price on the Wii ahead of the rumored price drop? The latest ramblings are that developers already have dev kits for the new console, one in particular. Ever heard of a little company by the name of Rockstar Games? It’s now being said that they’re working on GTA 5 for the big N‘s upcoming platform. This sounds mighty uncharacteristic of Nintendo, but if this holds up perhaps the video below is a glimpse of the future?
