There has been a great deal of concern regarding Microsoft’s Kinect and shovelware in the world’s gaming community. With recent leaks revealing support for more traditional titles, there appeared to be some hope for the popular motion sensor. However, with games like Kinect Star Wars and Disneyland Adventures on the way, we can’t help but start to worry again. Kinect Star Wars was revealed last year and looked like what you would expect, but seeing it in action only makes matters worse. Not only is it a lag session, it is also minigame central! We’re hoping they get the kinks worked out, but we won’t hold our breath. As for the Disney game, think of it this way, they charge you enough to visit Disneyland, do you really want them to charge you to pretend to visit Disneyland? Depending on their age, your kids might love it. If you’re still curious what all this looks like in action, French journalist Bertrand Amar has captured all the action your heart will desire and we’ve got it waiting for you after the break.
If there was ever a country named “Bad-Ass,” Harrison Ford’s picture would be printed on its money. We’ve decided to take two of his most iconic characters and have a fanboy dream match. If both universes were to collide, we’d like to know who gets the win? Please be sure to cast your vote and leave a comment letting us know whose side you’re on.
Today is Star Wars Day, but September 12th is the day that Star Wars goes HD! Lucasfilms has finally announced details on the upcoming blu ray set for their beloved series. Star Wars: The Complete Saga will be a nine disc set that will include loads of features that we’ve already seen before in previous special editions. It’s kinda a bummer but at least it’s Star Wars in HD. Full press release with disc details and cover arts after the break.
You can now set your calendars! ‘Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace‘ now has an official 3D release date! On Friday, February 10th 2012, you’ll be able to see a little Jar Jar action in the third dimension. We’ll probably end up seeing it on general principle, but we really didn’t care for this flick. The CG was a bit overkill for our liking, everything looked too pretty to touch. Go on bash us all you want! We’re pretty sure there’s a few million of you guys out there who think otherwise. Hit the jump for the full press release.
There has been a long debate over this one. So we’ve decided to leave it to you guys. Though their styles are different, it’s still all about space and science fiction. Be sure to let us know which universe you think is better, and be sure to post a comment telling us why. Live long and prosper, or may the Force be with you.
Anybody can put up Christmas lights, but these guys take it to the next level. Yep, it’s Jabba and they’ve captured his essence pretty well. Now all they need to do is Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Or how about some Stormtroopers?
Do you like Star Wars? Do you like Super Mario Brothers? How about mixing them together? The folks at TeeFury have this unique fashion statement on sale today for $9. Word is that this shirt is a one time only deal (perhaps made to order?). In any event this is a very clever mashup and a must own for any real fanboy or girl of either series.
Word around the Death Star is once George Lucas finishes releasing the first six Star Wars films in 3D, he’ll be working on a new Star Wars trilogy. It gets deeper, they’re not about the Skywalkers! Say what? It’s being said that there is some top-secret Jedi Council-like meetings going on at the Skywalker Ranch. The new flicks are not even suppose to be related to the upcoming live action TV series that’s in the works. Wow brand new material! If this is true we’re at least six years away from seeing anything. Lucas intends on releasing the original six movies year after year. So we could be looking at a 2016/2017 release? Hopefully we’ll at least see the originals released on blu ray before then, here’s to hoping.
Have you turned blue waiting for Star Wars on blu ray? Well we’ve kinda got some good news for you. Let us clear the air by saying no we don’t have a release date for Star Wars on blu ray, but we’ve got the next best thing! George Lucas has decided to re-release the entire Star Wars saga in modern-day 3D! Rumor has it that after experiencing Avatar Lucas felt that by the time the films hit theaters and homes there will be enough 3D capable screens to watch them on. Are you excited? Well there is somewhat of a catch. Each film will be released in numerical order. So with Episode I releasing in 2012 we’re looking at around five years from now until we see Episode IV: A New Hope.
So we have a classic battle of good versus evil here. We know there can only be one winner, and no voting for the Sith doesn’t make you evil (well it kinda does). Both sides use the force in different ways for different reasons. Be sure to vote and comment and let us know how you roll.
