As the days go by the Kinect homebrew scene is exploding with more applications and  hacks each day. This time around programmer Yankeyan is controlling Super Mario Brothers using OpenKinect and some Nintendo emulation. The results are somewhat crude, but hey adding next-gen controls to a game over twenty-years old is still impressive work. Consider this more of a fanboy tribute instead of something practical, heck after a couple of levels the average gamer will be pretty tired. We still feel Kinect has has the potential to be added to current games in more of a supporting mode in more traditional games, pretty much almost any racing and fighting game. In the meantime enjoy watching Nintendo’s favorite son take Microsoft’s baby girl on a date.
